GT is also currently working on a new Imperial era setting, the Interstellar Wars. The GT campaign setting is an alternate timeline but similar Imperial timeline in which the Emperor Strephon was not assassinated and the subsequent events the occurred in MT and TNE do not happen in the GT universe. GT or GURPS Traveller is currently still in prints and is not surprisingly adapted for use with GURPS. The official setting for T4 is Milieu 0, and centers on the years preceding and following the founding of the Third Imperium.

The rules once again went back to the Classic Traveller roots and were updated from there. Despite the name Marc had very little to do with the project. When GDW closed its door, the license was passed to Imperium Games who released T4 or Marc Miller's Traveller. Under TNE the Imperial setting was again advanced, this time into the aftermath of life after the final fall of the Imperium and the attempts to slowly rebuild. The basic world data remained very compatible with CT and MT, but much of the other design and rules systems were changed. TNE or The New Era was released using the GDW 'House System' and represented a major change in the rules. MT or MegaTraveller was an update of the original CT rules and the Imperial campaign setting was advanced into the Rebellion Era in which the Third Imperium began to crumble in a protracted Civil War following the assassination of Emperor Strephon. The Imperium in this period was set in the 'Golden Age', starting around the year 1105 of the Third Imperium and based in the Spinward Marches Sector. The Imperium setting actually developed secondary to the rules.

CT began existence without a setting really, just some vague references at best. CT or Classic Traveller, first printed in 1977, is currently being reprinted by Far Future Enterprises.
